QR Code Forever

Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains what QR Code Forever does and does not do with your information. The important part is short: generating, verifying and reading QR codes happens entirely in your browser, and the content of a code never leaves your device. The rest of this page covers the analytics and advertising on the pages around the tools, and how to control them.

What the tools do with your input

Generation. When you enter a web address, Wi-Fi details, a contact, or any other content, the QR code is built by code running in your browser. The input is not sent to us or to anyone else. There is no account and nothing to log in to.

Verification. Every code is checked by rendering it and decoding it with a scanner engine that also runs in your browser, in a background worker. The result is displayed to you and discarded.

Reading and scanning. Images you upload, drop or paste into the reader are decoded on your device and are not uploaded. On the scanner page, camera frames are processed locally and never leave the device; the camera is used only while you have started it, and stops when you press Stop camera or leave the page.

Bulk generation. CSV files and pasted lists are parsed in your browser, and the resulting ZIP is assembled there. Nothing in the file is transmitted.

Logos. An uploaded logo is read into memory in your browser to draw it into the code. It is not uploaded.

History

By default the site remembers nothing between visits. If you turn on Remember my codes on this device, the codes you generate (type, content, style and time) are saved in your browser’s IndexedDB storage on that device only. They are not synchronised anywhere, we cannot see them, and the history panel has a Delete all button that removes them. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them too.

Error tracking

We do not use any third-party error or crash reporting service. If something goes wrong, the page shows an error message and nothing is sent.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless, does not fingerprint visitors and records page views and performance timings only.

When it is enabled, we also use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Consent Mode v2 so that it respects the choice you make in the consent prompt. The events we send describe how the tools are used in aggregate: the content type (for example “wifi”), the output format (for example “png”), a size bucket, whether a verification passed, and similar categories. They never contain the content of a code, the address you entered, an uploaded image or anything decoded from one.

Advertising

The site shows display ads from Google AdSense on most pages, but not on this page, the terms page, the contact page, the offline page or the camera scanner while the camera is active. Consent is collected through Google’s certified consent management platform (Privacy & messaging) with Consent Mode v2. Where you have not consented, ads are served without personalisation and without advertising cookies. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the privacy settings link in the footer. Ad vendors receive the same page-level information as any website visitor; they do not receive the content of your codes, which never leaves your browser.

Cookies and storage

The site itself sets no cookies. Cookies may be set only by advertising and analytics vendors you have consented to, under their own policies, which the consent prompt links to. The site uses browser storage for your theme preference and, if you enable it, the code history described above.

Your choices and contact

You can use every tool on this site without consenting to anything, and without an account. To change consent choices, use the footer link. To ask a question about this policy or request anything under applicable data protection law, use the contact page. We can act only on data we hold, which, given the design above, is very little.

Changes

We will update this page when the tools, analytics or advertising arrangements change, and note the date below.
