QR Code Forever

Social media QR code generator

Make a social media QR code that sends people straight to your profile on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn or X, where the follow button is one tap away. The code is static, so it never expires and no link-in-bio service sits in between. It is free with no sign-up, made entirely in your browser, and verified by a real scanner before you download it.

Content: Social profile

The address of one profile. Upload your own logo in the Style panel if you want one.

Off by default. When on, each downloaded code (type, content, style) is saved in this browser only, never uploaded. You can delete them at any time.

How to make a social media QR code

  1. Copy your profile link from the app or your browser bar. It is usually the platform's domain plus your username, for example instagram.com/yourname, tiktok.com/@yourname or linkedin.com/in/yourname.
  2. Paste it into Profile link. One code holds one profile; make a separate code for each platform, or link to a page of your own that lists them all.
  3. Style it in the Style panel: pick a Style preset, set the Foreground colour to match your branding, and add your own logo with Upload logo.
  4. Turn on Show encoded text to check the link is exactly the one you meant.
  5. Wait for the badge under the preview to read Verified, then choose Download PNG, Download SVG or Download PDF.

Social media QR code details

A social media QR code is a link code that holds one profile address, such as https://instagram.com/annasbakery or https://www.linkedin.com/in/anna-smith. When someone scans it, the phone shows the domain and opens the link; on a phone with the app installed, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and X all hand the link over to the app, so the person lands on your profile with the follow or subscribe button in front of them. Without the app, the profile opens in the browser. Either way there is no intermediate page, and nothing about the scan reaches this site.

Use the short, stable form of each profile address:

  • Instagram: instagram.com/ plus your username. See the Instagram page.
  • Facebook: facebook.com/ plus the page username; long numeric page addresses work but make a denser code. See the Facebook page.
  • TikTok: tiktok.com/@ plus your username. See the TikTok page.
  • YouTube: youtube.com/@ plus your handle, or a video link if the goal is one video. See the YouTube page.
  • LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/ plus the name you chose under “Edit public profile & URL”. See the LinkedIn page.
  • X: x.com/ plus your username. See the X page.

Why there are no platform logos here

Each platform’s logo is a trademark with its own usage rules, and shipping them inside a generator would put every user on the wrong side of those rules. Use Upload logo with your own logo, or one you have the right to use, and set the colours yourself; the result looks like your brand rather than the platform’s.

A static code holds one address. Six platforms means six codes, or one code that points at a page on your own website listing them all. That page can gain a new platform or drop one later while the printed code stays the same, which is the honest way to get a changeable destination without paying for a link-in-bio service that can stop working.

  • Keep the link short. A handle-based link makes a 25 to 33 module code that survives being printed at 2.5 cm; a long numeric or tracking-laden link does not.
  • Print the handle next to the code. It tells people where they are going and lets them find you if the scan fails. A verified badge cannot be encoded, but the badge on the profile does the reassuring once they arrive.
  • Test on both kinds of phone. Confirm the app opens on your profile, not on a login wall.

Check the downloaded file with the QR code reader to see the exact link, and read the size guide before putting a code on a poster.

This code never expires

The code holds your profile address as plain text, so it works for as long as your username does, with nothing in between that can be switched off. This is a static QR code: the data is written into the pattern, so scanning it needs no server, no account and no subscription. There is nothing to renew and no redirect that can be switched off, which is why a code made here keeps working for as long as the printed copy exists. The trade-off is honest: a static code cannot be edited after printing and does not count scans. If you need either, encode a link to a page you control. Read how static and dynamic codes differ, and if a code you already have has stopped working, see why QR codes expire.

Styling, formats and print size

Every code can be styled in the Style panel: six dot shapes, corner shapes, solid or gradient colours, a transparent background, a quiet zone of 0–8 modules, and your own logo up to 30 percent of the width. A contrast checker warns below 3:1 and blocks downloads below 1.5:1, and after each change the preview is decoded again so the badge tells you whether the styled code still scans.

OutputBest forNotes
PNGWeb, documents, quick prints256 to 4096 px; transparent background supported
SVGDesigners and print shopsVector, scales without limit; logo embedded
PDFPrinting at an exact sizeVector modules at a chosen width in mm or inches, optional caption
JPGPlatforms that reject PNGWhite background; no transparency
EPSLegacy print workflowsVector from the module matrix, no logo
Copy / PrintPasting into a document; a quick paper testPNG to the clipboard; print view with caption

Print size: as a rule of thumb the code should be at least one tenth of the scanning distance wide, with the quiet zone included.

Scan distanceMinimum width
0.5 m (arm's length)5 cm
1 m10 cm
2 m20 cm
5 m50 cm

Profile links are short, so the code is small and prints well at 2.5–3 cm on cards and stickers; for a poster or shop window, go to 10 cm and export the SVG or PDF.

The QR code size guide has a calculator for module size, DPI and distance.

Frequently asked questions

Does a social media QR code expire?

No. The code holds your profile address as plain text and the phone opens it directly. It keeps working for as long as that address does. If you change your username, the old link stops resolving on most platforms and you would generate a new code, so choose a username you intend to keep.

Can one QR code link to all my social profiles?

Not directly; a static code holds one address. Either print one code per platform, or make a page on your own website that lists all your profiles and encode that page. You control the page, so you can add or remove platforms later without reprinting anything.

Why can I not add the Instagram or TikTok logo?

Those logos are trademarks with usage rules the site cannot grant you, so it ships none of them. Upload your own logo instead, or a logo you are licensed to use, and set matching colours in the Style panel. A branded code that looks like you is also easier to recognise on a shelf of stickers.

Will the code open the app or the website?

If the app is installed, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and X open the profile in the app; otherwise the phone opens the profile in the browser. Facebook does the same for page links. In every case the destination is the same profile; only the container differs.

How do I get a social media QR code that matches my branding?

Open the Style panel: choose a Style preset such as Rounded or Dots, set the Foreground colour, add a Gradient if you like, and upload your logo. Keep dark modules on a light background; the contrast check warns if the colours are too close, and the Verified badge confirms the code still scans.

How big should I print it?

A profile link makes a small code, about 25 to 33 modules per side, which scans fine at 2.5 cm on a business card or sticker. On a shop window read from a metre away, use 10 cm. The rule of thumb is width equals scan distance divided by ten, plus the white margin.

Does the code track followers or scans?

No. A static code cannot count anything; the phone goes straight to the platform, and the platform's own insights are the only place profile visits are counted. If you need to compare a poster with a card, use two codes and see which one brings the follows.
